There were new companies that debuted such as Never Never Shakespeare that co-produced a trillingual adaptation of Shakespeare's LEAR with Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre and La Troupe Du Jour.

Lolabrickita Theatre debuted premiering their first production, In The Next Room.

Companies such as Live Five celebrated their 21st season and Saskatoon Summer Players celebrating their 50th.

There were several world premieres of productions including Dancing Sky Theatre's Greensleep and Baba and the Gift of the Kohkum Scarf, Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin's Leave it to Weavers and Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan's Done/UnDone.

Along with the Fringe Festival there were touring productions of Vancouver's Monster Theatre's Juliet: A Revenge Comedy that was part of Shakespeare on The Saskatchewan's 39th Season. Also hailing from Vancouver were V'ni Dansi's La Mitchin di Mitchif which opened Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin's 25th season in November.

Chase Padgett who performed at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival returned to Saskatoon with his 6 Guitars production as part of his Canadian tour.
