
SUM Theatre’s The First Monday Brings a Double Feature Event for November Edition

SUM Theatre’s The First Monday returns for this month’s event. This month’s installment is a double feature.

Two plays by two different playwrights, Blair Pisio and Cheryl Jack.

The First Monday series is held at Persephone Theatre’s lobby on November 3 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Canada. The event is free and there will be a fifteen minute intermission and snacks will be provided.

Saskatoon’s SUM Theatre's The First Monday is a program designed by artists and playwrights to workshop new plays. The monthly series starts on the first Monday of each month and goes from October to May every year and began in 2022.
The project began as The Last Sunday in 2017. The first play reading was on September 17. Last Sunday ended in April 2022 and was rebranded as The First Monday in fall of 2022. Their first reading was on October 2nd 2022 which debuted, Sad Girls Watch the Princess Bride by Saskatoon actor, Mara Teare.
This month’s double feature is A Mixtape for the Man I Was/Am by Pisio and Waiting to Breathe by Cheryl Jack.

The ensemble for both features Braden Butler, Amanda Trapp and Elizabeth Nepjuk. The dramaturge this month is Drew Mantyka. Mantyka is director, playwright and creator and co-founder of Wonder City Collective.




Clare Middleton serves as the company dramaturge for SUM Theatre.

Pisio who currently works at SIAST as Interim Registrar and Director, Enrollment Services and currently serves as the President of the board of Saskatoon Summer Players and also acts in many of their productions






SUM Theatre’s The First Monday's November Double Feature is being held in Persephone Theatre’s lobby on November 3 2025 at 7PM. The event is free and snacks will be provided.
