Taste Of Saskatchewan Day 2 Blog Post

Sadly, I wasn't able to make it until 8:15. When I got there, the festival was packed. Good sized crowd at the stage, a swarm of people scattered all over the grounds, congregating by the booths, picnic tables or walking around.

Tried Caesar Salad with Pulled Pork from Schryer's Smoked BBQ Shack. It was delicious, a perfect infusion of Doritos chips, slaw, pulled pork and sauce.

17 Seconds Of Fuel were playing when I got there. Mostly a cover band playing AC/DC, rock power ballads.  They were good and really engaged both the stage crowds and those that were eating food and walking around the ground.

I was fortunate to talk to Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous Princess, Robyn Gillespie, Big Bear Donair  co-owner, who is visiting Saskatchewan promoting the Yukon Winter Festival in Whitehorse. She plans to stop at Ness Creek Musical Festival next before returning home.

The evening's big highlight however was the final band of the evening, Riff Raff, a cover band of AC/DC, Metallica, Golden Earing, Journey. Riff Raff has been playing for over thirty years in Saskatoon and had the crowd in the palm of their hand, even getting an encore after the crowd's overwhelming demand and enthusiasm could no longer be denied.

The other bands that played that day were Malick, Sunday Wilde and Reno Jack, The Stephanies, Tommy John Ehman (TJE) Jay Smeko, (Nothern Pikes) who went solo, Purdy Bird, Whiskey Jerks and Constant Reminder.

See you all at day 3!
