Red Dirt/Red Storm by Second Star to the Right Productions is a powerhouse of emotion and ferocity.

Ashley Victoria Robinson stars as S with Zach Council as Clark Stainer.
Ashley Victoria Robinson who also wrote the production delivers a performance that is erratic and unnerving as a wind-up toy with a stick of dynamite attached.
Zach Council is great as Clark Stainer in embodying an everyman quality, effortlessly trying to prove himself to Robinson’s S character.
While the play has sprinkles of levity, this is production can only be described as a companion piece to the 2011 film Scenes from a Marriage starring Adam Driver and Scarlet Johannssen and directed by Noah Baumbach.
This production borrows from the unrelenting emotional wallop presenting a series of fast paced vignettes highlighting S and Clark’s relationship from a meat cute introduction to a barrage of intensity that burns as brightly as the stars above their Mars habitat which the production is set.
Robinson and Second Star to the Right Productions have outdone themselves with a truly uncomfortable and tense performance from Robinson that will linger and haunt you.
Red Dirt/Red Storm from Second Star to the Right Productions is running at The Cosmopolitan (Cosmo) Seniors’ Centre from July 31- August 9 2025 at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Tickets can be bought online here, the box office or the venue itself.
