Jessica Pigeau’s How to Lose Friends and Irritate People is a standup comedy show featuring Pigeau’s social awkward performance that lets their persona shine as the star attraction to a captivating, magnetic, wild ride that veers into unfamiliar territory.
Humor is subjective but Pigeau’s persona is so precise in personality, cadence, physical mannerisms and affections that is unforgettably memorable and unique.
Pigeau’s persona is reminiscent of Pat, a character from Saturday Night Live, played by Julia Sweeney in the early nineties from 1990 to a follow-up movie, It’s Pat! in 1994. The character is sexually ambiguous, neurotic and at times socially alienating.
Pigeau makes the persona their own, creating an adorkable, ball of charm oozing with self doubt and a multitude of neurotic tics and mental health diagnosis.
This production is unique, vividly wild and memorable and unfathomably distinct and unforgettably magnetic turn for Pigeau.
How to Alienate Friends and Irritate People is playing at The Broadway Theatre from August 1-10th 2024 at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival. Tickets can be bought online here, the box office on site or at the venue itself.
