“I really enjoyed what I read about the musical. I’m forty five, Alison is forty three in the show and really connected with the idea of looking back and having different opinions about different phases of your life. Lyman said.

“It’s been a challenge for me because I’m on stage for the entire show, it’s a lot of watching and reacting to everything going around me. I’ve mostly been in the ensemble, so it’s been good practice for that. It’s definitely different, so she’s not directly interacting with a lot of it. It’s really different to build the energy of the scene without directly being involved in dialogue” Lyman said.

“This is really unique from anything that Summer Players has put on before, kinda moving away from the classic shows people are familiar with.” Lyman said.

“Even if the specific themes of queerness, being closeted or childhood adult trauma , even if we can’t directly relate to them, I think everyone has moments in our life, that this is a core memory that really laid the foundation

“My first impressions were that the music felt almost like Steven Sondheim in its complexity and beauty. Jeanine Tesori, is just unreal and the music is just gorgeous and I’m just floored by her ability to use the music to tell the story. When something is frantic, her music is frantic. When something is challenging or difficult, things clash in the music.”
